Last year,
40,000 people
searched online for
“grief support.”
Schedule your next GriefShare group so hurting people can find help.
With each new day come new people grieving the loss of a loved one.
And people today will reach for help wherever they can find it, especially after a quick online search!
GriefShare groups provide Christ-centered comfort and guidance. By scheduling your group you allow grieving people in your church and community to find the reliable support they desperately need.
As you schedule your next group, consider these ideas to reach even more people who are grieving:
Offer online groups
Many leaders prefer hosting a group in person. But online groups are a blessing to grieving people who are homebound, who do not live close enough to attend in person, or who are hesitant due to health concerns. Consider offering both!
Provide additional groups at new times
“When we first started GriefShare,” explains Pastor Bill Curl, “we offered it only in the evening. But we found that some people who can’t drive at night and others who work at night wanted the program. We began to offer a morning and an evening group.”
Host a group 2–3 times per year
By your doing this, people who lose a loved one can access immediate help and don’t have to wait months for a new group to start. Think of it this way: The “emergency room” will always be open for hurting people.
Pray
Pray for God’s wisdom in finding ministry team volunteers. Pray for grieving people to be led to your next GriefShare group.
Create
Create your group in the LeaderZone as soon as possible before your next group cycle begins—hurting people can find your group and plan for it.
Prepare
Order any needed supplies for your group, like participant workbooks, journals, brochures and flyers, or kits.
